Web Video Cast just got an update. Did yours?
Issue 1 · Oct 6–12, 2026. The latest Web Video Cast build focuses on subtitle controls and detection, finding DLNA and Roku devices, and managing saved items, alongside memory and stability work. Google Play rolls builds out over several days, so its page may show Open rather than Update while this release reaches different accounts.

Start NowWhat changed this week
These are the three changes in Web Video Cast | Browser to TV 6.0.3 that stand out in the developer's update notes and on its Google Play listing this week.
- 01More control over subtitle appearance
The notes add an option to use original subtitle styles and say subtitle font-size controls were fixed, giving viewers more dependable control over subtitle presentation.
- 02Finding DLNA and Roku devices
Google Play says discovery for DLNA and Roku devices improved. The app supports those receivers, but the notes do not promise that every device or network issue is resolved.
- 03Bulk cleanup for saved lists
The build adds bulk deletion for History, Bookmarks, and Most Visited, so users can remove multiple saved entries without treating each list item separately.
Our call on whether to update, and the link to the official Google Play listing, are on this issue's Web Video Cast | Browser to TV page.

Tips
- Check receiver compatibility first
Confirm that the TV or receiver is among the device types described by the app, such as Chromecast, Roku, DLNA, Fire TV, or supported smart TVs. The description notes that compatibility can vary. If a device is not found, make sure the receiver is available on your network and consult its instructions; the update notes report improved discovery for Roku and DLNA, not universal detection.
- Try subtitles before casting
When a web video has subtitles, check whether the app detects them and whether their appearance is readable before settling in to watch. The description also says you can provide your own subtitles or use the integrated OpenSubtitles.org search. This build adds an option for original subtitle styles and fixes font-size controls, but Google Play does not give a specific menu path for these choices.
- Review lists before clearing them
The app description lists bookmarks, video history, and most-visited sites as features, and this build adds bulk deletion for History, Bookmarks, and Most Visited. Before using a bulk action, check which entries are selected and whether the app asks you to confirm. The notes do not say that deleted entries can be restored, so avoid clearing a list if you still need its saved items.
Menu names follow the developer's help pages and can differ slightly between versions and phones.
How we write the digest
Each week we check the Google Play listings of the apps our readers use most: the version number, the update date and the developer's What's new notes. When an app has a new version, we put the developer's update notes and the listing details together on one page, in plain words, with a link to the official Google Play listing. Google and most developers release updates in stages over several days, so a version listed here may not have reached your phone yet. Therapymetric is an independent site and is not affiliated with any developer. This page doesn't read your phone or your Google account, and nothing is installed from here.
FAQ
Is this the official list of Web Video Cast changes?
No. This is an independent site and is not affiliated with InstantBits Inc. The app's Google Play page is the authority for its release notes, availability, and current listing. The change descriptions here summarize the Play data provided and add context from the app description; check Google Play for the developer's latest wording.
Why does Google Play show Open instead of Update?
Google Play rolls builds out over several days, so the listing may show Open while a newer build is still being made available to different accounts. Check the app's Google Play page again later for its current status and release notes. This listing provides no account-specific rollout information, so it cannot say when a particular account will see the change.
Can Web Video Cast play every web video on a TV?
No. The app description says support depends on the streaming device and its ability to decode the video; the app does not perform video or audio decoding or transcoding. Some problems may also come from the media provider's server. Supported media and device compatibility vary, so a video that plays on a web page may not cast successfully to every receiver.
