StepsApp just got an update. Did yours?
Issue 1 · Oct 6–12, 2026. The current StepsApp build adds a plans feature, while the app’s established role is tracking steps, distance, time, and active calories. Google Play rolls builds out over several days, so the latest build may not appear for everyone at once; the Play listing is the place to check availability.

Start NowWhat changed this week
These are the three changes in StepsApp – Step Counter 6.10.0 that stand out in the developer's update notes and on its Google Play listing this week.
- 01Notes mention a plans feature
Google Play says this build adds a plans feature, but the listing does not explain its options or how plans connect with daily step tracking.
- 02Daily activity overview is established
StepsApp already presents daily steps, distance, time, and active calories at a glance. These are existing app features, not additions identified in this build’s notes.
- 03Charts cover longer periods
Weekly, monthly, and yearly charts are listed as existing features. They offer a way to look beyond today’s count, but are not described as new in this build.
Our call on whether to update, and the link to the official Google Play listing, are on this issue's StepsApp – Step Counter page.

Tips
- Review more than your steps
Use the daily overview to check steps alongside distance, time, and active calories, all measures the app description says it can show. Comparing these figures can give you a broader picture of a day’s activity than a step total alone. The listing does not explain how each measure is calculated, so treat them as app-provided estimates or records rather than clinical guidance.
- Look across chart periods
Check the weekly, monthly, and yearly charts when you want context beyond a single day. These are existing features listed in the app description, not changes specified for this build. A longer view can make it easier to notice how recorded activity varies over time, but the listing does not promise any particular trend analysis or interpretation.
- Choose a daily activity goal
StepsApp’s description says users can set a goal and receive a notification when they reach it. If you use that feature, choose a target that makes sense for your routine and review it as your circumstances change. The listing does not describe a recommended target or say how the newly mentioned plans relate to goals.
Menu names follow the developer's help pages and can differ slightly between versions and phones.
How we write the digest
Each week we check the Google Play listings of the apps our readers use most: the version number, the update date and the developer's What's new notes. When an app has a new version, we put the developer's update notes and the listing details together on one page, in plain words, with a link to the official Google Play listing. Google and most developers release updates in stages over several days, so a version listed here may not have reached your phone yet. Therapymetric is an independent site and is not affiliated with any developer. This page doesn't read your phone or your Google account, and nothing is installed from here.
FAQ
Is this the official list of StepsApp changes?
No. This is an independent site and is not affiliated with StepsApp, the developer. Google Play’s app page is the authority for release information and the official change notes. Here, the current notes are summarized as written, and the app description is used only to explain existing features, not to fill in details that Google Play does not provide.
Why does Google Play show Open instead of Update?
Google Play rolls builds out over several days, so a build may not be offered to every account at the same time. If the listing shows Open, it may mean there is no update available to that account at that moment. Check the app’s Google Play page again later; the listing is the source for availability.
What does the plans feature do?
The current Google Play notes only say that a plans feature is added. They do not explain what plans contain, whether they set targets, or how they relate to step counts and charts. The app description mentions goals as an existing capability, but does not connect those goals to the new feature. Check the Play page for details.
