What's in the latest Docx Reader build?

Google Play's notes for Docx Reader's current build are brief: they mention fixes for known issues and an improved user experience, without specifying which problems changed. The app is described as a reader and editor for documents in several formats. Google Play rolls builds out over several days, so availability can vary.

What changed this week

These are the three changes in Docx Reader - Office Viewer 1.4.4 that stand out in the developer's update notes and on its Google Play listing this week.

Docx Reader - Office Viewer 1.4.4
  1. 01Known issues addressed, unspecified

Google Play says known issues were fixed, but the notes do not name them. There is no reliable way to tell which parts of the app changed.

  2. 02User experience improvements noted

The second note says the user experience was improved, without explaining how. This is a general description, not evidence of a newly added tool or redesigned screen.

  3. 03Document reading remains a core use

Already in the app, according to its description, is support for reading Word, PDF, Excel, PowerPoint, and text documents, including offline reading.

Our call on whether to update, and the link to the official Google Play listing, are on this issue's Docx Reader - Office Viewer page.

How we write the digest

Each week we check the Google Play listings of the apps our readers use most: the version number, the update date and the developer's What's new notes. When an app has a new version, we put the developer's update notes and the listing details together on one page, in plain words, with a link to the official Google Play listing. Google and most developers release updates in stages over several days, so a version listed here may not have reached your phone yet. Therapymetric is an independent site and is not affiliated with any developer. This page doesn't read your phone or your Google account, and nothing is installed from here.

FAQ

Is this the official list of Docx Reader changes?

No. This is an independent site and is not affiliated with QR & Barcode Scanner. The app's Google Play page is the authority for its release notes and availability. The notes shown there say that known issues were fixed and the user experience improved, but do not list particular bugs, screens, or features affected.

Why does Google Play show Open instead of Update?

Google Play rolls builds out over several days, so a newer build may not appear for everyone at the same time. If the app page shows Open, that does not establish that a particular fix has reached your listing yet. Check the Play page again later; its displayed information is the best source for availability.

Can Docx Reader convert PDF files to Word?

The app description says it can convert PDF files to Word and Word files to PDF, and says conversion results can be edited and shared. That describes a listed capability, not a change in this build. Keep the original file and review the result, since the listing does not promise exact preservation of all formatting.
