What it's for

Gmail is for reading, sending, finding, and organizing email, with support for multiple accounts from different providers. On a new phone, it gives you a central place for messages, security protections, and Workspace communication tools such as Chat and Meet.

After it installs: three settings

1. 01Check your account selection

   Gmail supports accounts from different email providers. Review which account you are using so messages and replies stay connected to the intended inbox.

2. 02Review available AI features

   Gemini features have plan and connection requirements. Check the account you intend to use before depending on AI writing assistance or inbox questions.

3. 03Check Workspace communication access

   If you use Gmail for teamwork, look for the communication options relevant to your account, including the Chat and Meet tools described for Workspace.

Common problem

Can't sign in? First check your internet connection and confirm that you are using the intended account details. Try opening Gmail again after checking those basics. If access still fails, follow the account provider's official recovery or support steps rather than creating a replacement account immediately.
