Blossom just got an update. Did yours?
Issue 1 · Oct 6–12, 2026. Blossom’s current build is about bug fixes and performance improvements, according to Google Play’s brief notes, rather than any named new plant care feature; Google Play rolls builds out over several days, so the available listing can differ between readers.

Start NowWhat changed this week
These are the three changes in Blossom - Plant Identifier 1.56.4 that stand out in the developer's update notes and on its Google Play listing this week.
- 01Brief notes name fixes and improvements
Google Play describes this build only as bringing bug fixes and performance improvements. It does not name affected screens, particular errors, or any measurable change in speed.
- 02Photo identification is already in Blossom
The description already lists identification of plants, flowers, succulents, and trees using a new photo or an existing picture. This is background context, not a newly announced addition.
- 03Care reminders remain an existing feature
Watering, fertilizing, and repotting reminders are already described in the app listing. Blossom can also create reminders based on plant needs; neither capability is announced as new here.
Our call on whether to update, and the link to the official Google Play listing, are on this issue's Blossom - Plant Identifier page.

Tips
- Use a picture already available
Plant identification does not require taking a fresh picture every time. The description says an existing picture on your phone can also be used. For a plant you photographed earlier, use that option to find its entry, then read the listed features and care instructions rather than stopping at the suggested name.
- Keep plants grouped by location
The Personal Plant Collection feature supports grouping plants by room type or creating separate folders using your own criteria. A room grouping can keep indoor plants together, while another folder can separate garden plants. This is an existing organizational feature, not something the current release notes say has changed.
- Record growth alongside care routines
Use Notes to journal plant growth, describe your care routine, and attach photos, as outlined in the listing. A record of blooms and visible changes can give you useful context when reviewing care information later. The description supports keeping this journal, but makes no claim that the update changes it.
Menu names follow the developer's help pages and can differ slightly between versions and phones.
How we write the digest
Each week we check the Google Play listings of the apps our readers use most: the version number, the update date and the developer's What's new notes. When an app has a new version, we put the developer's update notes and the listing details together on one page, in plain words, with a link to the official Google Play listing. Google and most developers release updates in stages over several days, so a version listed here may not have reached your phone yet. Therapymetric is an independent site and is not affiliated with any developer. This page doesn't read your phone or your Google account, and nothing is installed from here.
FAQ
Is this the official list of Blossom changes?
No. This is an independent site that is not affiliated with Mosaic Srl, and the app’s Google Play page is the authority. This editorial separates the brief release notes from features already described in the listing. It does not provide additional release information beyond what Google Play shows.
Why does Google Play show Open instead of Update?
Google Play rolls builds out over several days, so not everyone sees the same availability at once. Open rather than Update can mean no newer build is currently offered to you through that listing. It does not, by itself, establish which build is installed or whether a rollout has finished.
Does Blossom include help for sick plants?
The description lists photo-based plant disease identification and an AI Botanist offering treatment tips. It also explicitly names plant disease identification under premium features. Those are existing capabilities, not additions announced in these release notes. The supplied listing does not fully explain premium access, so check the app’s displayed terms before relying on access.
